Biography
Mario Massillamany has a Bachelor of Arts degree in rhetoric from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind., and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from University of Denver College of Law in Denver, Colo.
Before coming to Starr Austen & Miller LLP, Mario served as major felony prosecutor, grand jury prosecutor as well as general counsel and communications director at Marion County Prosecutor’s Office in Indianapolis. He was also deputy prosecutor in the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office in Noblesville, Indiana.
Highlights of Mario’s work in the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office include drafting and presenting proposed criminal legislation with Indiana state legislators, communicating the prosecution of criminal cases with media outlets, conducting high level political corruption inquiries, prosecuting fraud in financial institutions, investigating and dismantling gangs in the greater Indianapolis area and overseeing child solicitation Internet investigations.
Mario also tried over 50 rape, robbery, burglary, and murder jury trials.
At the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, Mario managed hundreds of active cases, coordinated the arson task force and managed all the arson cases in the county.
Mario is a Indiana State Bar Association District 5 Litigation Council representative for Newton, Jasper, Benton, White, Cass, Carroll, Warren, Tippecanoe, Clinton, Howard, Fountain, Montgomery, and Boone County.
Mario is chairman of Hamilton County Young Republicans and a member of the Board of Directors of Chaucie’s Place (center for sexually abused children). He is also a member of the Fishers Rotary Club and the Fraternal Order of Police.
Mario and his wife of 4 years, Amy Massillamany, are the proud parents of two sons.
