Paul J. Staso

Biography

Paul J. Staso focuses on securities fraud, construction liability and personal injury. He has extensive experience in fact investigation, conducting Internet and database research, and organizing vast amounts of legal documentation. He also prepares reports to completely inform attorneys of the facts of a case and its legal implications; obtains forms and documentation that attorneys request; and, makes arrangements for trial. Analyzing and summarizing documents; drafting discovery; performing fact/legal research; developing medical chronologies; and, case management are key tasks that he is responsible for.

Paul has two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Montana and his experience in the legal field dates back to 1993. He is a member of the American Alliance of Paralegals and a voting member of the Indiana Paralegal Association. Prior to joining Starr Austen & Miller, Paul was employed with law firms in Alaska and Montana specializing in commercial litigation, environmental law and personal injury. He has also been a Paralegal Specialist for two judges with the U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of Hearings and Appeals.

Paul is the father of four children and is an ultramarathon runner, having run solo and self-supported across the United States, Alaska, Germany, and the Mojave Desert while promoting youth fitness on a global scale. He was a torchbearer for the 2002 Olympic Games, has received an award from the Mayo Clinic for his efforts in reducing childhood obesity in America, and was inducted as the first European PTA Youth Ambassador. Paul and his fiancé, Kelley, enjoy family and church activities, as well as opportunities to visit her family in the Midwest and his in Alaska.
