Firm History

Since 1982 Starr, Austen & Miller LLP has emerged with a strong reputation as a small, passionate firm that takes on large, complex cases.

We remain firmly committed to our founding principles: Win or lose each case on its own merits with hard work and thorough preparation making all the difference. This holds true today in our relationships with every client, whether an individual in a construction accident case or a multimillion dollar class actions securities case.

Our five attorneys offer over 90 years of combined experience and 11 support staff considerably enhance the firm’s efficiency and capabilities. Our legal team represents and advises clients in the areas of plaintiff’s securities fraud, class actions, construction accidents, trucks accidents and mediation. We also participate in appeals in cases handled by other lawyers at the trial court level.

Our lawyers have a combined experience of over 90 years.

One factor that makes us unique is that while we are a smaller securities law firm we regularly take on large and complex cases and bigger law firms. Members of our firm have faced off against a number of high-profile lawyers and law firms, and in the process has earned a national reputation among litigators. These cases range from personal injury caused by exposure to toxic chemicals to mass and class actions against national brokerage firms for securities fraud.

Yet, at the same time we’re small enough to deliver what often matters most:, personal service with a hands-on human touch and a passionate commitment to supporting each client’s needs and achieving their goals. Should we accept your case, you can be assured of our total commitment and full, vigorous, effective representation. That’s the way we would want to be represented.

While no lawyer can guarantee a result, we can guarantee that you will receive our best efforts to meet your needs. And you will be treated honestly. As your attorneys, it is our job to advise you based on our experience and knowledge of the law. Sometimes you will like what you hear. Sometimes you will not. Either way, it will be the truth.

We handle most cases on a contingency fee basis where clients pay no attorney fees unless we succeed in obtaining a settlement or verdict in their favor. Most important, however, we strive for fairness and assure you that we will earn our fee.
